Zimbabwean ghetto youths are now extracting liquid from used and disposed sanitary pads and baby diapers to supplement the shortage of drugs in the market, iHarare is reliably informed. Sanitary pads and diapers alike contain Sodium Polyacrylate which is used as an absorbent. This is a sodium salt of polyacrylic acid with the chemical formula [−CH₂−CH−]ₙ, and dissolves once boiled. The chemical content in these is then drank, mixed with broncleer or injected into the system together with other injectable drugs found in the street. As horrible as it sounds, ghetto youths insist this is the best drug in the market so far. 13 people arrested over 270 charcoal bags haul. The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has issued a stern warning to people engaged in the illegal harvesting of firewood and possessing charcoal without permitssaying they will be arrested. Posting on their Twitter handle on Monday, the ZRP said 10 people were arrested on Wednesday last week after being found in possession of 160 bags of charcoal in Beatrice, Mashonaland East. Three more people were arrested on Friday in Nyamapanda for possession of 110 bags of charcoal without a permit. The suspects will appear in court on charges of contravening the Forestry Act. A 13-year-old boy commits suicide over washing powder raw with his sister. Mashonaland Central police spokesperson Inspector Milton Mundembe confirmed the incident. A 13-year-old boy from Mushumbi Pools committed suicide after a misunderstanding with his 21-year-old sister over washing powder. “On March 6 around 0600hrs, at Gumbo village, Chief Chitsungo, Howard Kanyepa (13) was reprimanded by his sister Gracious Kanyepa (21) over washing powder,” Mundembe said. This angered Howard, who went to his bedroom hut where he took a bottle of cotton pesticide and went into a nearby bush where he drank the pesticide. Gracious alerted their father. A search was conducted and Howard’s corpse was found in the nearby bush.
