Board of inquiry for Military helicopter crash. Wing Commander Thomas Tinashe Manyowa, Flight Lieutenant Anita Mapiye and aircraft technician Flight Sergeant Tinodiwanashe Chikamhi died after their chopper plunged into a house in the Chinyika area. Government has set up a board of inquiry to investigate the cause of Friday’s helicopter crash which killed two Air Force of Zimbabwe (AFZ) pilots and a flight technician in Goromonzi, Mashonaland East Province. Eighteen-month-old Jade Pfenyere, who was sleeping inside the house, also died in the accident. Speaking to families of the deceased after visiting the accident scene yesterday, Defence and War Veterans Affairs Minister Oppah Muchinguri-Kashiri said the inquiry will determine the cause of the crash. 13-year-old boy hangs himself to death

 13-year-old boy hangs himself to death. Busisa Lunga left home on April 11 around 4 PM to round up donkeys at Msetshane grazing lands but never returned home. A 13-year-old boy from Maphisa, Matobo District in Matabeleland South was found hanging from a tree branch after going missing for five days. His uncle, whom he lived with, informed other villagers the next day upon realising that Busisa had not returned home. Matabeleland South Provincial Spokesperson Inspector Loveness Mangena confirmed the incident that left villagers in shock. “I can confirm that Busisa Lunga, 13 years old was found hanging from a tree branch on April 16, five days after he had been reported missing,” said Insp Mangena. A MAN from Headlands in Manicaland faces murder for allegedly striking and killing his colleague with a brick on the head. Police confirmed the incident. Munyaradzi Garikai (23) of Doverleigh Farm, Headlands reportedly struck Joseph Majoni with a brick on the head after the two exchanged words when they were smoking dagga. According to Manicaland police spokesperson, Inspector Luxson Chananda, the deceased sustained a deep cut on the head as a result of the attack. Chananda said recently, at around 10 pm, Garikai and his colleague were smoking dagga together at the farm. “The deceased and the suspect were reportedly smoking dagga and ended up exchanging words,” said the police spokesperson.  3rd Wave: 122 students test positive for COVID-19 at a school. The Ministry of Health and Child Care announced the development in a Coronavirus daily update that also indicated that the country had recorded 165 coronavirus cases. About 122 students from St David’s Bonda High School in Manicaland province tested positive for coronavirus this Saturday, a day after 97 infections were recorded at another school in Matabeleland South. The update also indicated that Zimbabwe had recorded one COVID-19 death while 34 cases were hospitalised. Among the 34 hospitalised, 25 were said to be in a moderate state, 7 in a severe state while 2 are said to be in Intensive Care Units. The death that was reported from Manicaland Province brings the total officially reported deaths to 1552. T

High Court stops President Mnangagwa from renaming street after himself

The Ministry of Local Government and Public Works had through Statutory Instrument 167 of 2020 ordered municipalities in Bulawayo, Harare, Chipinge, Gweru, Masvingo, Bindura, Chegutu, Kwekwe, Mutare to have roads named after Mnangagwa, and several other suggested liberation personalities. Landlady daughter beat the tenant to death over an electricity bill misunderstanding. Police preliminary investigation revealed that on February 26, 2021, an argument, over the payment of electricity bills, ensued betweenthe duo which led to a fight. Magunje Police have arrested one Ms. Tinashe Shumba, for allegedly beating her mom’s male tenant to death, over electricity bills. Following the fight, the deceased had continually suffered severe pains, unfortunately, on Wednesday, April 14, 2021, at about 7 am while the deceased was being rushed to the General Hospital, he gave up the ghost.  The Policewere contacted and arrested the suspect immediately.

Lewis’ brother, Luton, confirmed the incident but could not be drawn into divulging more.
