significant victory for justice, serial r...apist Daniel Chauke (62) has been sentenced to a total of 133 years in prison for seven counts of rape.
The sentence was handed down after a full trial that took place from June 10th to 14th, 2024.
The court heard how Chauke committed a series of heinous crimes, starting with the ra...pe of a 69-year-old woman on April 3rd, 2022.
He deceived her by claiming her grandchildren had stolen his property, then attacked and force-marched her into a bushy area where he committed the offence.
Between July 2022 and April 2024, Chauke went on to commit six more similar offences, targeting women aged 60, 46, 23, 71, 3, and 45. He is also facing three counts of murder.
The sentence breakdown is as follows:
– 18 years for the first count of rape
– 15 years for the second count
– 20 years each for counts 3 to 7
Counts 1 to 4 will run concurrently with count 7, resulting in an effective sentence of 60 years.
