The driver has since been identified as Uncle Taps.
He is said to have lured the pupil into his vehicle after promising to give her some water after she had complained that she was thirsty.
Harare provincial police spokesperson, Inspector Luckmore Chakanza, confirmed the case appealing for information that may lead to the arrest of Uncle Taps.
“Police are investigating a rape case involving a juvenile at a parked vehicle at a school ground,” said Insp Chakanza.
“Circumstances are that on November 19, 2024, in the afternoon, the complainant knocked off school early and waited for the school kombi at the school grounds.
“She felt thirsty and went to ask for water from a woman, who is the owner of the kombi which was parked at the school grounds.
“The woman said she did not have water and she moved away from the kombi.
“Taking advantage of the kombi owner’s absence, the accused person then called the complainant to get water from the kombi.
“The complainant entered the kombi and that is when the accused person grabbed her, covered her mouth, tied her legs and hands with a seat belt and raped her once without protection.
“Accused threatened the complainant with death if she reported the matter to anyone.
“The complainant was escorted to Parirenyatwa Hospital for medical examination and the accused person is on the run,” said Insp Chakanza
