This Tuesday morning, a severe incident occurred when an Inter-Africa bus burst into flames near Jubert Crushers on the Masvingo-Mutare highway. Remarkably, all passengers managed to evacuate without any injuries.
According to one of the passengers, the fire began in the engine compartment and swiftly spread throughout the vehicle, eventually consuming it entirely. The police provided an official statement regarding the incident, confirming the event and the absence of casualties. “The Zimbabwe Republic Police confirms a fire incident which occurred at the 11km peg along the Mutare-Masvingo Road on June 25, 2024, at approximately 0445hrs,” the statement read.
