a devastating road traffic accident occurred at approximately 4:04 PM at the 90-kilometre peg along the Harare-Mukumbura Road, resulting in the deaths of five pedestrians, as confirmed by the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP).

The incident involved a Nissan Primera vehicle, which was carrying one passenger.

Reports indicate that the car veered off the road before overturning and landing on its roof. In the process, it struck six pedestrians who were walking along the roadside.

 

 

 

 

 

 

The collision had catastrophic consequences.

Three pedestrians were pronounced dead at the scene, while two others succumbed to their injuries shortly after being admitted to Bindura Hospital.

Additionally, the passenger in the Nissan Primera and another pedestrian sustained injuries and are currently receiving medical treatment.

 

 

 

 

The tragic event highlights ongoing concerns regarding road safety and the need for increased vigilance by drivers, particularly in areas frequented by pedestrians.

Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident, urging drivers to exercise caution and adhere to traffic regulations to prevent further tragedies.
