GAY MAN, ACCUSED OF INDECENT ASSAULT,
THE 25-YEAR-OLD man, who is accused of indecently assaulting a teenager, told a court in Harare yesterday that he was in a homosexual relationship with the boy, contrary to the State’s claims.
Tinotenda Chibwe appeared before magistrate Marewanazvo Gofa, who remanded him in custody to his trial date on October 21.
Asked by the magistrate what was his relationship with the complainant, who is 17, Chibwe said he was in a homosexual relationship with him.
The court heard that in January, the complainant joined a gay WhatsApp group platform code named ‘PrivateThe two agreed to meet in May and they met at Machipisa Shopping Centre in Highfield.
Chibwe lured the boy to his house and they started drinking while chatting.
Chibwe forced himself on the boy.
In August, the boy’s father saw messages in his cellphone between his son and another man.
However the phone broke before he had gathered any information.
Last month, the boy used his mother’s phone to contact Chibwe, who invited him to his home.
The boy refused and Chibwe started using another number to lure the boy.
The mother informed her husband.
