Harare, Zimbabwe – A controversial mining permit has surfaced, raising concerns over potential favoritism in the allocation of the country’s gold resources. The permit, which grants exclusive mining rights to over 40 hectares of land, has been issued to an individual suspected to be a child of the ZANU PF leader. The special grant, registered under the Ministry of Mines and Mining Development, allows gold extraction in a prime mining region, sparking suspicions of political influence.

Critics have raised serious questions about transparency, pointing out that such large-scale permits are rarely granted to ordinary Zimbabweans.

As speculation grows, authorities have yet to comment on the origins of the permit or the connections of its recipient. However, the emergence of this grant is likely to intensify debates over corruption and the control of Zimbabwe’s mineral wealth.
