9 have perished  so far in Easter Holiday accidents

9 have died so far in Easter Holiday accidents. The national police spokesperson, Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi said there was almost a 50 per cent increase compared to the corresponding period last year. The Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) has reported that the number of people who have to date died during this year’s Easter Holiday has risen to nine (9) which is higher than last year’s.

Motorists have since been reminded that road traffic safety is a shared responsibility, hence they should take caution as they travel to reduce further carnage.

Road accidents usually spike during holidays as many will be rushing to their destinations while some will be driving under the influence of alcohol.

Many view the holidays as the time to visit their relatives while others take it to go on prayer retreats thereby creating congestion on the roads.
