High Court stops President Mnangagwa from renaming street after himself

he street was to be renamed Emmerson Dambudzo MnangagwaWay. The Ministry of Local Government and Public Works had through Statutory Instrument 167 of 2020 ordered municipalities in Bulawayo, Harare, Chipinge, Gweru, Masvingo, Bindura, Chegutu, Kwekwe, Mutare to have roads named after Mnangagwa, and several other suggested liberation personalities. High Court stops President Mnangagwa from renaming street after himself. The High Court of Zimbabwe has blocked President Emmerson Mnangagwa from renaming 6th Avenue in Bulawayo after himself. Mbuya Nehanda’s Relatives Warn Of Disasters If Slay queen  Statue of Mbuya nehanda  Is Erected

A woman claiming to be one of the surviving relatives of the first Chimurenga heroine, Mbuya Charwe, the spirit medium of Mbuya Nehanda, has approached the High Court challenging the erection of the heroine’s statue.  The government is erecting Mbuya Nehanda’s statue at the intersection of Samora Machel Avenue and Julius Nyerere Way in Harare. In the court application, Mbuya Nehanda’s granddaughter, Susan Rosi Tirivangani cited Home Affairs minister Kazembe Kazembe and National Museums director Godfrey Mahachi as the respondents. Landlady daughter beat the tenant to death over an electricity bill misunderstanding. Police preliminary investigation revealed that on February 26, 2021, an argument, over the payment of electricity bills, ensued betweenthe duo which led to a fight. Magunje Police have arrested one Ms. Tinashe Shumba, for allegedly beating her mom’s male tenant to death, over electricity bills. Following the fight, the deceased had continually suffered severe pains, unfortunately, on Wednesday, April 14, 2021, at about 7 am while the deceased was being rushed to the General Hospital, he gave up the ghost.  The Policewere contacted and arrested the suspect immediately.

 Controversial preacher Passion Java has sensationally claimed that his father co-owned former Premier Soccer League (PSL) side Darryn Tornadoes and was the one, together with Wiesław Grabowski, who discovered some of the best footballers of yesteryear. HUNGRY villagers Wednesday scrambled to loot free loaves of bread from a Lobels Bread delivery truck that had been involved in an accident with another truck at Buffalo Downs where three people died. The incident happened at Buffalo Downs, a few kilometres outside Karoi Wednesday morning. The trucks involved in the accident belonged to confectionery giant Lobels, and courier logistics company, Swift. Driver Escapes With Burns As Fuel Tanker Catches Fire In Nyazura

A truck driver sustained serious burns when his fuel tanker caught fire after sideswiping another vehicle in Nyazura on Wednesday. The Harare-bound truck was carrying 42 000 litres of petrol worth over US$50 000 when it caught fire at the settlement located about 150km south-east of Harare. Police said a Toyota Land Cruiser vehicle encroached into the tanker’s lane, leading to the sideswipe. No fatalities were reported, and the trucker is in stable condition, police further stated. Just In: No More June Zimsec Exams

Government has suspended the Zimbabwe Examinations Council (Zimsec) June 2021 Ordinary and Advanced Level Examinations. The next examinations will be in November 2021. The development was announced by the minister of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Senator Monica Mutsvangwa during Wednesday’s post-Cabinet briefings in Harare. The Ministry of Information posted on social media saying this suspension will allow for timely focus on the November 2021 examination preparations.

Cabinet Reviews Passport Fees ma yuwesi see new prices

Cabinet this Wednesday reviewed fees for ordinary passports to USD$60 or Zimbabwe Dollar equivalent and USD$200 for three-day passports. The government said this was one of a cocktail of measures put in place to clear the passport backlog that dates back to 2018. Reports suggest that there are about 256 000 passports that need to be processed.

Mike Diki of Hoyuyu village was found hanging from a tree by his mother-in-law Alice Mhike two days after he had an altercation with his wife Afrasia Bhadha. A 40-year-old Mutoko man committed suicide at his in-laws’ homesteadon April 2 following a domestic dispute. Mashonaland East provincial police spokesperson Inspector Tendai Mwanza confirmed the incident. “The deceased was spotted some metres from his in-laws’ homestead. Man caught on CCTV stealing in Borrowdale

Man caught on CCTV stealing in Borrowdale. An unidentified man was caught on CCTV breaking into houses in Borrowdale where he allegedly stole US$20 000, laptops and cellphones. Award-winning journalist, Hopewell Chin’onoforwarded the message that claimed the man had tried to steal again last night. Read the message: “This man was caught on CCTV breaking into houses on Helensvale Road in Borrowdale last Friday. US$20,000, phones, laptops and other things were stolen.
