 Botswana bans poultry imports from SA. This follows an outbreak of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza, in commercial farms and compartments, in several Provinces in addition to the initial outbreak report at Gauteng province. The Botswana government has banned, with immediate effect, the importation of live poultry and their fresh products from South Africa until further notice. In a statement on Monday, Director-General of Veterinary Services in the Ministry of Agriculture Development and Food Security Dr Letlhogile Oarabile said the ban is aimed at mitigating the risk of possible spread of the disease to Botswana. On Tuesday last week around 8 PM, eight men allegedly approached Bernard Dube, under the pretext that they wanted to process their gold ore. Dube owned gold milling machines. A gold dealer in Lower Gweru, Midlands Province, was shot dead in a suspected hit at his home while his wife and children watched helplessly. The moment Dube came out of the house, one of the robbers allegedly opened fire and hit the businessman with eight bullets. Eight passengers travelling in a Toyota Wish are feared dead after their vehicle collided head-on with an Inter-Africa Bus near Matizha Business Centre in Gutu this morning. A motorist who arrived soon after the accident said one person appear to have survived the accident and he (the motorist) took the survivor to Matizha Clinic. Eyewitnesses said an Inter-Africa bus was trying to overtake another bus(Mandaza) when it encroached into the lane of the oncoming Toyota Wish.  3 killed, 6 injured as overloaded mshika-shika taxi collides with a truck. The incident occurred Tuesday afternoon at the 94 kilometre-peg along the Harare-Chirundu highway. Mashonaland West police spokesperson, Inspector Margaret Chitove confirmed the fatal crash to NewZimbabwe. JOHANNESBURG – Government on Tuesday said they were unable to verify if a Gauteng couple indeed had 10 babies as was reported. IOL reported on an exclusive story earlier on Tuesday, saying Gosiame Thamara Sithole from Tembisa gave birth to 10 children at an unnamed Pretoria hospital. Government communications department director-general Phumla Williams asked the public and tagged IOL in a tweet asking for more information. “We need to verify this story and provide assistance where needed.” Ekurhuleni Mayor Mzwandile Masina also said they tried to find out where the family was, to no success.
