Chimurenga musician Thomas Mapfumo has blamed the youths for being responsible for the crumbling economy. Mapfumo blamed top musicians aligned to the ruling party.
The Vanhu Vatema singer said it is those artists that sing praises who aid to the crumbling of the economy because they benefit. He further stated that the silence of the youths from political debates is worrisome and if youths do not speak up they will suffer for the rest of their lives.
Mapfumo who is also a social commentator got attacked for his remarks by youths who said that if he is concerned he must be the one voicing up.
Some even went on to attack him saying he ran away from Zimbabwe so he must not have a say in the day to day runnings of Zimbabwe.
