Tamy Moyo hails Jah Prayzah after scooping Star FM Awards. In an interview with H-Metro, Tamy said she appreciated Jah Prayzah’s input. “I’m honoured to have worked with Jah Prayzah. I learnt a lot from the experience. He is a very jovial character and is always willing to learn from others. Star FM Listeners’ Choice treble winner Thamsanga “Tamy” Moyo has praised Jah Prayzah for his creative edge. Tamy opened up after winning three gongs — Best Female Artiste, Best RnB Song and Best Collaboration — over the weekend at this year’s edition. With Jah Prayzah, the two artistes collaborated on the song Kuteera, which won the Best Collaboration award. Kuteera has an accompanying video.
“I respect that and wish to emulate that more,” she said. Tamy told H-Metro that she will always cherish the video-making experience she had with Jah Prayzah in Victoria Falls.
She also took the opportunity to thank Star FM listeners who voted for her. “I’m beyond ecstatic and humbled to have won at the Star FM awards. “I’m grateful to everyone who voted, my team, my management and God for this and more.
“I’m happy to know that people see, acknowledge and enjoy what I do and for that I’m most thankful,” she said. On how she intends to maintain her touch, Tamy continued: “I pray I never stop putting time and passion into my craft. “I love what I do, and that’s what keeps me going.
“I also continue to pray for God’s grace because it isn’t by my own might, skill or effort that I can achieve this, which is most important.” Like most of her peers, Tamy said she was not spared by the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic. “The pandemic has been tough and really hard to adjust to.
“The inability to interact with fans and enjoy the concert experience has been particularly devastating, with little resources to our already challenged industry.
“On the other bright side of things, it’s allowed me to reflect and stretch myself a bit more out of my comfort zone and think outside the box, which is an equally important skill in life. “I pray and hope I can truly maximise on what I have learnt in this season.”
