Comic Pastor and his ex-wife Munyaradzi Mavura’s physical abuse trial started today at Epworth Magistrates Court. The comedian is being accused of physically abusing his ex-wife during the duration of their 1-year marriage. The two were married five years ago, and in that period, Munyaradzi narrates the torture she suffered at the hands of the Comic Pastor and his family.
Munyaradzi Mavura shares how she suffered at the hands of her ex Mavura shared on Facebook earlier this year that she was once married to the Comic Pastor, and it was not pleasant. In a lengthy post, Mavura shared that the comedian would lay his hands on her even when she was pregnant. This led to an alleged miscarriage, according to Munyaradzi Mavura.
Comic Pastor’s brother was also implicated in the abuse by Mavura. She claimed that the whole family mistreated her and that Comic Pastor had extramarital affairs with his now-wife while married to Mavura.Comic Pastor denies allegations. The Comic Pastor denied the allegations when the Facebook post claimed he did not know Mavura. However, pictures of the two in happier times surfaced, and most fans believed Mavura’s story.
During the trial, Comic Pastor pleaded not guilty and is set to be put on defence on Friday. The Comic Pastor, who is being represented by his lawyers Tafadzwa Muvhami and Phyllis Mudekwa, will share with the court that his ex is jealous of his success, Mavura, however, sticks by her allegations and even claims that whenever she fought with his current wife, then girlfriend, she would be beaten by the Comic Pastor. When asked why she has chosen to pursue justice now, Mavura shared that she did not know her rights then and thought it was everyday marriage life.
